Retaining Rings

Retaining rings, also referred to as snap rings, are typically installed in a groove on the shaft or bore. The retaining ring acts as a shoulder which holds components in place. The retaining ring holds in place by interference on either the I.D. or O.D. .

Materials:

Carbon Spring Steel (standard) - SAE 1070-1090 : General Use

Stainless Steel 15-7 MO (Retaining Rings with Lugs)- AISI 632, AMS 5520 : Higher strength, and improved corrosion resistance.

Stainless Steel (Spiral Retaining Rings)- AMS - 5866 : Improved resistance to rust.

Beryllium Copper (special request) - Alloy #25 : Extremely high resistance to atmospheric corrosion.

Other materials available upon request.
